2010 Calendar Spreadsheets
Is there a way to get Office XP type software for Windows 7?
I currently have Office 2010 and I loathe, detest, abhor, abominate and totally hate it. It’s way too messy to look at – all the icons etc. drive me insane. I’m used to Microsoft Office XP and would love to have it on my new computer, but it doesn’t appear to be compatible. Anybody know of A. any good inexpensive or free word processing/spreadsheet/calendar type software that is SIMPLE and EASY to use, or B. any way to make Office XP compatible with my Windows 7 computer? I want to get rid of my Office 2010 ASAP.
OpenOffice is as hard to use as Microsoft Office and it does not come with a calendar application. You would need to install Sunbird, which is really terrible. OpenOffice hasn’t been updated for about 5 years, and it’s showing its age.
Of the free alternatives, the most up to date one is probably IBM Lotus Symphony. It was recently updated:
