My boyfriend helped his father a few years back and co-signed a mortgage with him! Well now we are looking for a how, together, and we need his name free and clear of the house an idea? Thank you
The only way to get your mortgage guy is having his father refinance it entirely in his own name. No lender voluntarily remove him. If dad's credit is not good enough to refinance on his own, your friend is stuck. Another lesson learned painfully on the co-signature.
