we applied for a mortgage before (a few years ago). at that time the guy gave us each a copy of our credit report and wrote some notes on things to do to fix our credit. We have just applied for a mortgage and this lady tried to charge us $ 28 for reports. are we not entitled to the report?
No, the lender paid for the report. Some may give you a copy, maybe at the close. You can obtain free copies of your annual credit reports from all three credit bureaus through AnnualCreditReport.com. The reports are free; scores are not.
