setting goals high school students
a 100 word essay on my goals, please offer recommendations.?

1. Describe a goal you have set for yourself, and how you plan to achieve it. How would you compare your educational interests and goals with other students in your high school.

My answer- After earning my first D in my fifth grade mathematics class, I ‘m determined to improve. My goal is to discover my true potential. I am currently challenging myself by taking my first AP statistics coarse. I agreed to take this coarse, because I liked the idea of a challenge. I plan on achieving this goal, by studying hard, getting extra help when I need it, and reading ahead in my textbook.
Compared to myself, I see that other students in my high school are more interested in improving their grade point averages, then challenging themselves by taking more difficult classes.

I think the other person misunderstood… you are in highschool now, but what inspired you to work harder was getting a bad grade in elementary school, right? It’s not bad to mention a D you got in fifth grade!! Maybe just say a “poor grade” rather than specifics. And letting them know you value learning and challenges is a good start, but you dont want to minimize the importance of a good GPA. GPA’s help you earn scholarships, get into honor societies, and get into graduate/professional schools. It’s great to challenge yourself, but dont set yourself up to fail. Make the challenges reasonable so you can succeed!
